Co-creating Gender Liberation

A Two-Hour Interactive Session Blending Multimedia Education, Reflection, and Dialogue

Saturday, October 26th

1-3pm CST

Join us for a transformative two-hour session designed to explore how we can collectively co-create gender liberation in our communities. In "Cocreating Gender Liberation," we will challenge the rigid gender norms and binaries that shape our world, opening up space for more fluid, expansive, and authentic expressions of identity. Come get real with us about the limits the gender binary imposes on ALL of us and how to get free together.

The session will touch on the colonial and other forms of imperial rule that imposed strict gender binaries, erasing more fluid understandings of gender that existed in many cultures around the world. These structures still influence the ways we think about and experience gender today, often limiting our ability to fully express ourselves.

Your facilitators Liberty Gonzalez, a white genderfree Pagan-Jew & Khi Gillz, a Black transmasculine musician and organizer will guide you through multimedia education, engaging personal reflections, and rich group dialogue to:

  • Deepen your understanding of gender expansiveness and explore how the colonial and imperial histories shaped the binary gender system we live in today.
  • Reflect on your own experiences and assumptions around gender and identity in a supportive space.
  • Explore a vision for co-creating gender liberation that is rooted in compassion, equity, curiosity, and community care, moving toward practices that foster environments where everyone can flourish.

We will also hear from leaders in the conversation, such as ALOK and other creative educators, who bring insight, art, and personal narratives to the gender liberation movement.

This session isn’t just about understanding gender; it’s about transforming our communities by fostering environments where everyone can flourish. Together, we’ll explore how to bring these ideas into practice, creating tangible shifts that move us toward a world where gender liberation is possible for all.

Whether you are new to these conversations or already deeply engaged, this space is for anyone seeking to expand their awareness, learn in community, and take meaningful steps toward liberation.
